Beaches, adventure

The calm and pristine Oneroa Beach is just a 15-minute walk or a five-minute bike ride away from your cabin. The popular swimming beach is sheltered with aqua waters and golden sands—a great spot for a picnic lunch or a fun day in the sun.

You can snorkel or dive the waters surrounding Waiheke and see the local marine life up close in its natural habitat.

If you’d prefer to stay put on land, Oneroa is also a great starting point for some of Waiheke’s best walks. Walk along Oneroa Beach to Little Onerooa Beach at low tide, then take a 1.5 hour walk along the Northern Coastline and across to the picturesque Palm Beach.

Palm Beach is a tropical paradise on Waiheke Island with palm-fringed shores, turquoise waters, and a laid-back vibe. Enjoy relaxing on the sand, exploring the rockpools, or indulging in water sports like kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, and snorkelling. You will find all water sports equipment and more in a little store Watsup Waiheke.

You haven’t had a true Waiheke experience until you’ve visited the iconic Oyster Inn. Located just down the road in Oneroa, the ‘award-winning beachside bistro’ is the perfect spot for an afternoon beverage and a bite to eat. The fresh local oysters are a must!

And no trip to Waiheke is ever complete without visiting one of our many spectacular wineries. Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant is just a 20-minute walk or a five-minute bike ride away, and here you’ll experience some of the finest wine and most breathtaking views on the island.

If you fancy a more casual establishment or somewhere nice for breakfast Akito Eatery in Oneroa is a plant-focused eatery with a wide variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The menu features classic and creative dishes, all made with fresh, local ingredients. The atmosphere is warm and inviting.
